Template notice. This document is a starting template for SiliconCoder. Before publishing publicly, have a qualified attorney in your jurisdiction review and adapt it to your specific business and applicable laws. It is not legal advice.

This Privacy Policy describes how SiliconCoder ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares information about you when you visit our website, apply to our program, or interact with us. Please read it carefully.

1. Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly to us, including:

  • Application information: name, email address, phone number, current role, preferred cohort, and any free-text you provide on the application form.
  • Communications: the contents of emails, support messages, advisor-call notes, and any documents you send us.
  • Enrollment information: if you enroll, billing information, government-required identification where applicable, and learning-progress data.
  • Employer-side information: if you are an employer, the company, role, and contact details you submit on our Employers page.

We also collect limited information automatically:

  • Log data: IP address, browser type and version, pages visited, and timestamps. We use this to operate and secure the site.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: a minimum of essential cookies to run the site. We will update this policy and request consent before adding any non-essential tracking or analytics.

2. How we use information

  • To process your application and communicate with you about admissions.
  • To provide our training program, including curriculum delivery, mentorship, and placement support.
  • To send you administrative communications about your account, cohort, payments, and policy updates.
  • To send marketing emails about our courses and resources only if you opt in. You can unsubscribe at any time.
  • To respond to inquiries and support requests.
  • To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the site and our services.
  • To prevent fraud and protect the rights, property, and safety of SiliconCoder, our students, and the public.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

3. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in limited circumstances:

  • Hiring partners: with your consent, we share your dossier (resume, portfolio, references, video) with employers evaluating you for a role.
  • Service providers: with vendors who help us operate the business (email delivery, payment processing, video hosting), bound by confidentiality obligations.
  • Legal compliance: when required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
  • Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. We will notify you and provide choices where practicable.

4. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including the right to access, correct, or delete it, to object to or restrict certain processing, to data portability, to withdraw consent where we rely on it, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

California residents (CCPA/CPRA): you have the right to know what we collect, to delete and correct it, and to opt out of "selling" or "sharing" personal information. We do not sell or share personal information in the legal sense of those terms.

EU/UK residents (GDPR/UK GDPR): our legal bases for processing are consent, performance of a contract, our legitimate interests in operating the business, and compliance with legal obligations.

To exercise any rights, contact privacy@siliconcoder.example.

5. Data retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described above, to comply with legal obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce our agreements. Application data from candidates who do not enroll is retained for up to 24 months, then deleted or anonymized. Enrollment and tuition records are kept for the period required by applicable law.

6. Data security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
